For mail order companies, their catalogue is their shop window.

In recent years the internet has made mail order a far more attractive way to shop, quicker, easier to access and more informative than ever before. However for many people the catalogue or brochure is still a key part of their decision making when it comes to choosing products and brands. The credibility associated with a well presented document, the tactility of the paper chosen on which to print, the smell of the inks, the flicking of the pages all connect a brand with its customer.

Just as a website must "work" so must a catalogue, the order that information is presented to the customer the choice of images, the process of ordering and the ability to convey choices etc. is paramount in ensuring a customer makes the right decision and enjoys the purchasing process.

We have created a wide range of catalogues for diverse products. Our involvement begins by understanding our customers product range. Ensuring we know what we are talking about means we can design far more effectively. We also need to put ourselves in the mind of the buyer - what process do they go through? - when do they make their decision? - how much information is enough? how much is too much?

We can then move on to the positioning of the document ensuring it is aimed at the right audience and that they will respond favourably to it. At this stage we begin the visual design process to show the structure, layout and style for the document.

When we have completed the design process we can then move on to production. Our photographers and art directors capture products in their best light - our copy-writers describe products and convey benefits and our designers layout images and copy for maximum impact.

Proofing occurs throughout the production process, we like to keep our clients involved, and on completion and sign off we then manage the printing production and distribution.

The Catering Equipment Company

Moffat have been producing high quality catering equipment for nearly 50 years. When we were asked to look at their presentation, back in 2002 it was clear that the company had evolved, but so had the material they used to bring their product to market.

We had to, very quickly, become familiar with the company and its offer. Research and compile a huge data resource of product information - coding, imagery and descriptions, fill in the gaps with new photography and then rationalise all of the leaflets, brochures, pamphlets and fliers that had been produced throughout the company's history and design a sales tool that would promote Moffat's extremely good reputation while conveying the vast product range they had established.

The turnaround in the company has been spectacular, built on solid foundations the company has gone from strength to strength and is now exporting a large proportion of their product to Australia, Dubai and the far East while maintaining a healthy customer base in Europe and the UK.

The Big Sensory Catalogue has catapulted Kirton Healthcare from being a supplier of sensory products to being the UK authority and leading provider of sensory environments, equipment and advice.

Now in its sixth edition, the Big Sensory Catalogue brings together more than 1,000 products.
